Machine Line Leader, 2nd shift

 

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday, occasional weekend work and overtime
Hours are from 3:00pm – 11:00pm

Position Summary

The 2nd shift Line Leader serves as a key member of the Operations team, overseeing and optimizing the execution of owning the Production/Packaging process for Tribe 9. The Line Leader plans and executes the daily production schedule, ensures team safety, food safety, adherence to quality systems and process efficiency.

The Line Leader should have a hands on, yet strategic mindset. Thinking two steps ahead while having an action-oriented disposition that achieves results.

Responsibilities:

    • Continuously monitor line workers and facility for safe behaviors. Assist in training on new/updated safety topics.
    • Lead the day to day process of food products made and packed.
    • Direct, coach and counsel production workers.
    • Monitor the quality of ingredients and completed product prior to packaging.
    • Ensure the accuracy of information on labels, film and boxes.
    • End of shift final check or production numbers and line paperwork to be submitted to Production Manager.
    • Communicate with maintenance team as needed.
    • Verify all machine settings are correct for the product being made on each line.
    • Assist in the training of new production workers on proper procedures, the safe running of the production equipment, Red Zone, correct packing and palletizing processes.
    • Ensure correct lot number of filled product is being packed when needed.
    • This position is also called upon to perform other duties not specifically outlines by this description.

Job Requirements:

Specific qualifications for the role include:

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, production line, and equipment.
  • 5+ years of leading mechanical operating manufacturing experience.
  • Food industry experience, leading the IQF and/or GF Fresh machine processing.
  • Mechanical aptitude to operate manufacturing equipment.
  • Communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual; fluent in another language other than English is a plus.
  • Food processing systems, including high speed production lines required.
  • Availability to work flexible hours as required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to standing for prolonged periods; frequently walks, grasps, lifts, holds, or feels objects; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working and handling products, computers, or machinery. The employee is subject to assist and support up to 50 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on a as needed basis. The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and the ability to operate equipment if required. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and non-moving mechanical parts. The employee could have work conditions that are extremely cold or extremely hot. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
