Position Summary - Plant Controller
The Controller serves as a key member of the Finance leadership team, overseeing and optimizing the execution of general accounting, cost accounting and financial reporting. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Finance & Administration. The successful candidate will have the ability to make the complex simple in both words and deeds by streamlining communications and processes. We are seeking a candidate with a strategic mindset always thinking two steps ahead while having an action-oriented disposition that achieves results.
Beyond the stated skills and qualifications, the successful candidate will be naturally curious and have the demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities; articulate and convey thoughts and ideas to multiple audiences and possess a strong sense of ownership for operations and results.
Responsibilities
Management
- Responsible for overall integrity and control of financial information
- Partner with leadership, recruit, establish and maintain an organizational structure that supports Tribe 9 Foods’ objectives and goals
- Be a resource for the finance and accounting team
- Leads, motivates, and directs the staff and external service providers that are responsible for: Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable, Audit and Operational Accounting
- Responsible for monthly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- This position is also called upon to perform other duties not specifically outlined by this posting.
Reporting & Technical:
- Issue timely and complete financial statements for all stakeholders
- Dig deep on cost accounting, inventory and working capital
- Recommend, calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Participate in annual budget modeling and consolidation
- Manage annual audits and reviews as required
- Maintain the chart of accounts and an orderly accounting filing system
- Maintain User & Security permissions in the ERP System
- Develop and maintain KPI Metrics that will help identify opportunities for growth
- Ensure that bank and balance sheet reconciliations are performed regularly
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with major in Accounting
- Minimum 10 years related experience and/or training
- CPA, MBA or related experience required
Computer Skills:
- Quickbooks, QAD or other ERP systems
- Microsoft Tools
- Other accounting software
