Tribe 9 Foods is a manufacturer and partnership of value-based brands (RP’s Pasta Co., Carla’s Pasta, Taste Republic, and Yumbutter) with a mission to promote eating and living well. Tribe 9 is positioned to make big inroads in the co-manufacturing space and is looking for a strategic person to lead our Food Service sales team.

Summary of Role:

The Sales Director is a remote opportunity and takes a multi-focused strategic approach to developing sales opportunities with key accounts and national business development. The individual will be responsible for presenting product lines in a favorable light, negotiating sales contracts, and developing/managing sales leads. The primary responsibility of this role will be to drive the sale of products produced by Tribe 9 Foods within the food service channel.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Involved with the day-to-day sales associated with existing and prospective customers, project management, including national growth of Carla’s Pasta, Taste Republic, and co-packed private label brands.
  • Ownership of P&L; understanding of pricing and corresponding cost models.
  • Oversee Food Service business development & contract negotiations.
  • Direct responsibility of Sysco Category Management and other distribution partners.
  • Manage Brokers and Regional Managers where necessary in each market to establish growth goals and implement strategy to accomplish those goals.
  • Review sales analytics and develop market strategy.
  • Negotiate program agreements with customers.
  • Plan, schedule, develop, and execute sales trainings and new product introductions with Broker offices.
  • Regular collaboration with VP of Sales to review and update strategies and initiatives.
  • Accept ownership of Sales objectives and all facets of our business that impact sales growth.
  • Work in tandem with Tribe 9 Foods HQ office to develop and be responsible for margin realization.
  • Contribute to ideation sessions with R&D to identify potential new products.
  • Contribute to project management and organization of new product launches.
  • Attend key trade shows.
  • This position is also called upon to perform other duties not specifically outlined by this posting.

Qualifications:

  • Independent, resourceful, entrepreneurial and go-getter.
  • Bachelor’s Degree; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • 5+ years of B2B Manufacturing experience and sales experience preferred.
  • Ideal candidate would have experience within the Food Service category.
  • Proven experience working with R&D to develop the next generation of products.
  • Ability to represent Tribe 9 Foods and sell our brand and corporate mission.
  • Negotiation skills, Team Player, Multitasking.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Collaborative/Accountable/Results driven/ Detail Oriented.
  • Quick grasp of business model including economic factors/influences.
  • Analytical and process oriented.
  • Able and willing to communicate effectively.
  • Motivated, persuasive, individuals willing to take ownership of duties.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within a large geographic area.
